Nou dreams for Arshavin (why Barca not Man Utd???) ='(

Russian hitman Andrei Arshavin has said he would be delighted if he could secure a move to Barcelona.

The striker has recently made known his preference to play in Spain, instead of Italy and England, and has targeted Barcelona as his favourite destination.

Arshavin, speaking to euro2008.com, said that he would love a move to the Nou Camp and that he is a big Barca fan.

"I have supported Barcelona all my life. Barcelona are my dream," the Russian said.

The forward is currently on the books of Zenit St Petersburg and is slated to leave the club after Russia's Euro 2008 campaign, despite winning the UEFA Cup with the Russian giants last season.

However, Arshavin has declined to speak about his future any further.

"I never thought I would have a genuine chance to play for the club. Let's see how the situation unfolds. For now I can't say anything for sure."

The 27-year-old also said that he is focused on trying to get Russia past Spain in their semi-final match.

"At the moment I'm a player of team Russia and I'm only thinking about doing well in the semi-finals."

The creative midfielder missed Russia's first two group games of the tournament, but came back firing on all cylinders, scoring two goals in as many games to lead his team to a date with title contenders Spain.

Guus Hiddink's men have already squared off with Luis Aragones' side in the first Group D match, losing 4-1, but the addition of Arshavin may help provide a much different outcome this time around.
